There’s a shiny new skyscraper in your hometown, and you and your friends are looking to cause some mischief! You want to see who can ride the new building’s elevators longest before getting caught and tossed out by the manager. Grab your friends and get going; you’ve got bellhops to bother!

Going Up? An Elevator Card Game is a casual party game combining elements of games like "99" and "Uno" in which players takes turns playing a card from their hand to move the "Elevator" a set number of floors, based on the value of the card. If a player can’t play a card without moving the elevator below the 1st floor or above the 99th, they’re out. The last player standing wins!

To make things more interesting, there are special cards scattered throughout the deck that can shake things up, buying you a breather or putting the pressure on your friends. Will you hoard these cards to protect yourself, or will you risk everything to catch your opponents off-guard? Play your cards right, and victory will be yours!

Players take turns strategically playing cards from their hands in an attempt to keep the "Elevator" between floors 1 and 99. The Elevator starts on floor 1 going up. Each numbered card that's played adds its numbered value to the Elevator. However, players can also flip the Elevator's direction to going down, at which point numbered cards subtract their value from the Elevator.

There are several things a player can do on his or her turn that can change their approach to the gameplay:

Players may do any of these on their turn.

When players play a matching card to the previous one on the Elevator, regardless of color, the Elevator switches its current direction before applying the card's value. This is true even of special cards.

Special cards allow players to alter the gameplay to buy themselves more time or to make things harder for their opponents. There are four different types of special cards:

Special cards can be played on top of any card, regardless of color or value.

When a player can no longer play any cards that would keep the Elevator between floors 1 and 99, they are eliminated. The last player standing is the winner!
